Dr. Beverly Strunk is a board-certified psychiatrist with clinical expertise in interventional psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and the treatment of complex psychiatric conditions across diverse populations. She is currently the owner of Strunk Medical Corporation, where she provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment in a virtual private practice setting, and also serves as a psychiatrist for Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, offering care for students while mentoring psychiatric nurse practitioners and counselors.
Dr. Strunk specializes in interventional treatments, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and esketamine therapy. Since 2024, she has been an Interventional Psychiatrist with Sollus Psychiatry in Carlsbad, California, and previously practiced with SoCal TMS in Corona. She also serves as a Compensation and Pension (C&P) Psychiatrist for the Veterans Health Administration in San Diego, conducting clinical interviews and record reviews to evaluate disability claims for military veterans.
From 2020 to 2024, Dr. Strunk held the role of Department Head of Mental Health at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, where she served as a staff psychiatrist, supervised clinicians, and chaired the Impaired Healthcare Provider Program. Her service with the U.S. Navy began in 2012 as a Lieutenant Commander in the Medical Corps and continued through her psychiatric residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego, completed in 2020. She was honorably discharged from active duty in 2024 after 12 years of service.
Dr. Strunk earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2016, following her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, magna cum laude, from Washington Adventist University in 2012. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and licensed in both California and Virginia. She also holds certifications in multiple TMS platforms, including NeuroStar and Apollo, and has completed the Clinical TMS Society’s Pulses and Pain Management Courses.
She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Clinical TMS Society. Her clinical interests include mood disorders, trauma, substance use, personality disorders, and military and student mental health, with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered treatment.
