
Dr. Ashley M. Brown, Psy.D

Dr. Ashley Brown is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in forensic psychology, with extensive experience in juvenile justice mental health, trauma, and high-risk recidivism populations. She currently serves as a Clinical Psychologist II with the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Clinical Evaluation and Guidance Unit (CEGU), where she provides comprehensive psychological services for detained minors at the Orange County Juvenile Hall. In this role, Dr. Brown conducts diagnostic evaluations, crisis interventions, and psychological testing, and offers individual and group therapy on issues such as anger management, human trafficking, substance use, and trauma. She also provides court testimony for 707 proceedings and clinical supervision to up to six unlicensed clinicians.
Dr. Brown earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and Master of Arts in Clinical Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University, where she graduated with honors. She also holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from National University. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at the CEGU, and she completed additional forensic training at Orange County Youth Guidance Center, Landmark Medical Center, and Olive Crest transitional housing facilities.
She has also served as a staff clinician with Spero Psychological Services, where she provided treatment for adult federal sex offenders, conducted risk assessments, and collaborated with federal probation departments. Her work has also included clinical consultation with Dodson Psychological Services and de-escalation training for youth-focused art programs through the Riverside Art Museum.
Dr. Brown holds certifications from the California Sex Offender Management Board (CASOMB), is trained in Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), and has completed specialized seminars in trauma, substance use, motivational interviewing, neuropsychology, and cultural competency. Her dissertation explored juror perceptions of malingering in defendants with traumatic brain injuries.
She is licensed in the state of California (#PSY31506) and trained in PCL-R risk assessment. Dr. Brown remains active in community-based interventions and has volunteered with the School for the Deaf, Riverside Art Museum, and Riverside County Hospital.
