Introduction

Dr. Alfred L. Glover is a board-certified podiatric surgeon with over three decades of clinical experience, leadership in public health advocacy, and distinguished military service. He currently practices as a partner at Inglewood Foot and Ankle Center and serves as a clinical podiatrist with West Regional CTV Arterial & Vein Center, specializing in limb preservation and wound care.

Dr. Glover earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of San Francisco in 1980, followed by his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1985. He completed his internship at Norfolk Community Hospital in Virginia (1985–1986) and his surgical residency at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Illinois (1986–1988). He is currently pursuing graduate studies at Meharry School of Global Health (2024).

He began his clinical career as a U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander (1986–1991) and served as a reservist until 1995. Since 2000, he has maintained an active practice in Southern California, working with several Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) including QueensCare Family Clinic, St. John’s Well Child, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Multi-Service Ambulatory Care Center. From 2011–2016, he was a clinical consultant for Arteriocyte, focusing on wound and cellular therapies.

Dr. Glover has held academic and leadership roles including Surgical Medical Director for the Podiatric Surgery Residency Program at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital and current Associate Faculty at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. He is an active member of the National Medical Association, where he serves on the Executive Board and as Treasurer for Region VI.

An advocate for climate and health equity, Dr. Glover is a 2023 Fellow of the Climate Health Equity Fellowship (CHEF) and a 2024 Fellow in the Policy Experience with Equity in Climate and Health (PEECH) program. He has delivered presentations nationally on environmental justice, limb salvage, and community health impacts of climate change.

He is a decorated veteran, longtime community servant, and Deacon at West Angeles Church of God in Christ. He holds multiple honors including the U.S. Navy Combat Service Award and Deacon of the Year recognitions in 2013, 2015, and 2016.
