Introduction

Alexis Chaudron is the owner of AEC Consulting LLC, an independent consulting practice through which she provides healthcare expertise honed through 15+ years of healthcare experience. Ms. Chaudron has provided expert witness services for medical legal cases. She has analyzed medical charts, depositions, declarations and other related documents to ascertain if the nursing standard of care has been met. Ms. Chaudron has provided depositions and expert testimony as needed depending on case requirements. She has worked for both plaintiffs and defense in medical malpractice and wrongful termination cases.

Ms. Chaudron has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Studies from the Johns Hopkins University and a Master's of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She continued to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing after working for years in healthcare administration. Ms. Chaudron earned a Doctor of Education program in Leadership and Learning in Organizations at Vanderbilt University. In addition, she holds FACHE, NEA-BC and CNOR certifications.

In her most recent employed position, Ms. Chaudron served for seven years at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center as the Operating Room Manager and then the Unit Director for Surgery and Sterile Processing Department The campus has 16 operating rooms that provide vital routine and emergent surgical services, including daVinci robot surgeries. She also served as the interim Unit Director of the PTU/PACU/TRU, Santa Monica Surgery Center and Minor Procedures Unit.

Prior to being recruited to UCLA, Ms. Chaudron took on progressive nursing leadership roles at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, both in the greater Los Angeles area. She began her clinical career in the operating room as a circulator and scrub nurse at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Ms. Chaudron specialized in orthopedics, where she scrubbed and circulated total joint replacements, foot and ankle procedures, knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, anterior and posterior spine cases, and hand and elbow procedures. Additionally, Ms. Chaudron was trained and worked in Neurosurgical, General, ENT, Plastics, DaVinci, GYN, Cystoscopy, and Pediatric surgical cases.

Prior to working in the operating room, Ms. Chaudron was a clinical nurse extern in the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, which exposed her to the intensive care environment and how to treat neurological life-threatening diseases. She participated in patient care for post-operative neurosurgical, orthopedic, spine and otolaryngology patients.

Prior to entering the clinical side of healthcare, Ms. Chaudron worked in healthcare consulting roles for Premier Inc. and DGA Partners (now Veralon), where she utilized her business expertise to perform financial projections and ROI and competitor analyses, as well as design a modeling tool to assess patient flow.

Ms. Chaudron is currently a member of the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.
