Dr. Aamir Khan is a double board-certified psychiatrist specializing in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He is the owner and solo practitioner of Aamir Khan, M.D., Inc., a private outpatient psychiatry practice in Los Angeles, California. In this role, he provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for children, adolescents, and adults.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Khan serves as a contract psychiatrist for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, delivering psychiatric care to adults enrolled in the Office of Diversion and Reentry (ODR) program. He previously served as a contract psychiatrist for Newport Academy, where he provided coverage for adolescent residential treatment, partial-hospitalization, and intensive-outpatient programs. Dr. Khan also worked with MindCare Solutions providing psychiatry coverage in ER and medical/surgical consult settings, as well as with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as a psychiatrist at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility. Earlier in his career, he served as a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with Pacific Coast Psychiatric Associates in Culver City, California.
Dr. Khan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Basis of Behavior, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, with a minor in South Asian Studies and a Certificate in Spanish Language. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2016. He completed his General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine’s Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, where he was recognized with multiple awards, including the Clinical Excellence in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Award and the Peer Award for Humanism in Medicine.
Dr. Khan is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is an active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, and the California Medical Association. His research contributions include co-authoring a publication on novel investigational therapeutics for generalized anxiety disorder.
