Introduction

Robert James FGA, GG holds the world’s highest credentials in gemology and jewelry appraisal and operates the most advanced forensic gemological laboratory in the country. He has served as an expert witness in State and Federal Courts across the U.S. as well as the United Kingdom. He was formerly with the Property and Casualty Division of USAA insurance, a position that included working with the USAA Gem Lab and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) division assisting with the investigating and reporting of insurance fraud cases. He is now an independent Property and Casualty Insurance Adjuster of the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI#1300433) and also handles all levels of jewelry investigations in the United States and Europe for law firms, insurance companies, and individuals. Mr. James is President of the Insurance Institute of Jewelry Appraisal, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Education Organization that provides gemology and jewelry appraisal education for the insurance and jewelry industries.
