Dr. Richard J. Lee is CEO of RJ Lee Group, Inc. and serves as an expert witness and scientific legal strategist. His expertise encompasses materials analysis, nanotechnology, mining and minerals, air quality, metallurgical failure analysis, concrete durability, biomedical devices and criminal forensics. Dr. Lee has personally provided strategic scientific direction and technical oversight in hundreds of cases and has extensive experience as a testifying expert in state and federal courts. He was a principal investigator in a number of cases surrounding the WTC event including damage assessments on behalf of building owners. Other notable product liability cases involved the failure analysis of concrete railroad ties, failure analysis of synchronizers in heavy duty truck transmissions, impact of emissions related to imported Chinese-manufactured dry wall and evaluations of the significance of lead in paint on imported toys. Dr. Lee’s extensive experience leading scientific expert teams with diverse backgrounds in the context of litigation, his keen ability to navigate the scientific issues in the case and to critically assess analytical data generated by other experts, positions him as a scientific legal strategist. Dr. Lee is author or co-author of more than 200 presentations and publications including publications in peer-reviewed journals.
