Dr. R. Craig Jerner, a metallurgical engineer, has assisted injured parties, defendants, insurers, attorneys, corporations and government agencies for over 46 years as a failure analysis consultant, litigation consultant and expert witness. Since 1968, Dr. Jerner has conducted more than 1600 failure analyses and accident investigations. He has given over 275 depositions and has testified as an expert witness in State and Federal courts on more than 75 occasions. Dr. Jerner serves both defendants and plaintiffs in litigation cases. His typical current defendant/plaintiff ratio is one to one.

His consulting has focused on engineering analysis of equipment failures and accidents involving the failure of metals and metal components. These investigations include analyses of design, materials of manufacture, methods of manufacturing, maintenance, use and abuse of metal products and metal components of equipment and machinery. As a P.E. and Ph.D., Dr. Jerner has also consulted with the United States Coast Guard (USCG), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the U.S. Department of Labor (OSHA). He has testified, as a metallurgical expert, before several federal agencies "Boards of Inquiry." Dr. Jerner's expert testimony from these inquiries has appeared in The Congressional Record.

Dr. Jerner thoroughly investigates all evidence in order to develop the most probable accident scenario consistent with available physical evidence and developed data and test results utilizing long-standing protocols, practices and procedures developed by American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).

Dr. Jerner utilizes his love for teaching to simplify complex engineering principles and findings into easily understood concepts for his clients during his research, investigations, reports and expert witness testimony.
