Introduction

Dr. Argumedo is a highly skilled Board-Certified Forensic Psychiatrist. She has testified in over 40 cases over her more than 10-year career and rendered her opinion in considerably more cases which have settled. She routinely conducts forensic expert witness assessments and Fitness for Duty Evaluations, issuing accessible, thorough reports of her findings. She works with private employers, government agencies and Human Resources and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) professionals. Dr. Argumedo has considerable experience testifying in civil litigation and criminal matters. Dr. Argumedo is an expert in the area of psychiatric and psychological competency. She also has an active clinical practice treating patients requiring admission for severe mental health conditions at Rush Oak Park Hospital, an acute care hospital. Dr. Argumedo has conducted hundreds of bedside assessments for competency, and behavioral health conditions in a hospital setting. She consults to Hospital Administration and Medical Colleagues on matters such as health care competency evaluations, adequate protocols, and best practices. In any setting, Dr. Argumedo finds that age, disability, and family dynamics can play a part in the need for a psychiatrist experienced with hospitalized patients. Equally important is hospital and doctor compliance with standards of care in psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning, and treatment.

Dr. Argumedo is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Rush Medical School and Rush University Medical Center, one of the largest medical schools and teaching hospitals in Chicago. She teaches psychiatry residents on topics related to psychiatry and the law, and psychiatry in medicine. Dr. Argumedo also serves on the Medical Admissions Committee.
