Introduction

Mr. Kurt Jensen AIA is a Registered Architect and provides construction observation services on project sites ranging from roofing projects, façade re-cladding, waterproofing and transition reports for homeowners associations. He also develops working drawings and construction documents for the firm's residential, commercial and retail projects. Mr. Jensen has over 25 years of experience in the field of construction and architecture, both residential and commercial. He spent a portion of his career working for a national home builder where he was responsible for the largest community homes offered starting at 6,000 square feet, located in more than 15 states. Part of his responsibilities at this phase of his career involved obtaining local permits, conflict resolution, sales and product development. Mr. Jensen also spent a portion of his career as a code official and director of code enforcement. This experience gave him additional exposure to a wide range of construction types. Mr. Jensen is well-versed in the International Building Code series as well as being aware of local codes and their impact on projects. In his position as code official, Mr. Jensen spent 3 years on the Historical Review Board of Newtown Township, Bucks County, PA and 3 years as zoning official at East Caln Township, Chester County, PA. Mr. Jensen has performed forensic investigations for multiple firms. These investigations focused primarily on losses that were due to construction defects and weather related damage. Projects ranged from Super Storm Sandy cases, large condominium construction defect assignments and commercial flooring issues due to moisture. In his early years, Mr. Jensen held various positions within lumber yards, machine shops and operating concrete trucks. Mr. Jensen also spent over 12 years in the volunteer fire service as a firefighter, ambulance and apparatus engineer. His construction knowledge and fire service experience enables him to maintain a dialogue with the contractors while on site to ensure that project goals are met. He regularly attends continuing education courses to keep abreast of the latest products, industry, and governmental developments.
