Introduction

Dr. Garrett is a licensed physician in WASHINGTON and IDAHO. Serving the greater Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas locally, and available for cases nationally.

Dr. Garrett completed psychiatry residency at the University of Washington. He then completed one year of fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Garrett is the medical director of behavioral health services at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, ID. He maintains a full-time clinical practice working primarily as an outpatient general psychiatrist providing evaluation and management for psychiatric medications and brief psychotherapy.

His work also includes behavioral health integration with primary care clinics, also called collaborative care, as well as supervising therapists overseeing the hospital’s intensive outpatient programs (IOP).

Dr. Garrett has experience providing hospital services including adult inpatient services, consultation liaison, inpatient addiction, and emergency department consults.

Dr. Garrett generates clear and effective forensic reports backed up using DSM5 criteria and appropriate medical citations as necessary.
