Introduction

Jon Weissman is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Prior to his academic life, he worked as a software designer for 5 years in industry. He is currently an investigator at the Minnesota Digital Technology Center, the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, and the NSF Center for Research in Intelligent Storage. Weissman is an established leader in the area of Distributed Systems. Weissman's focus areas span software, cloud computing, mobile computing, Internet technologies, security, operating systems, and storage. Weissman serves on numerous editorial boards and steering committees. He has received numerous awards including the prestigous National Science Foundation CAREER award and has been a distinguished visiting fellow at the University of Edinburgh.

He has worked on 10 litigations, testifying at both deposition and trial. He is a skilled writer and analytic thinker. He presents as a very confident and relaxed witness. His primary skill is the ability to teach complex technical material in an easy to understand manner for the lay person.
