Internationally known for rock mass characterization, primarily within the fields of discontinuity mapping (photogrammetric), determination and interpretation of spatial structural characteristics, and major geologic structure interpretation with regards to rock slope and underground opening design. This expertise has been utilized in several legal disputes regarding civil rock cuts (break beyond design line, over excavation of material, etc).
“Cradle to grave” engineer of record for several open pit and underground mines. Approximately 40 years of applied engineering experience.
Forensic analysis of rock instabilities, including failure of support systems, adequacy of remediation (and suggestion for improvement).
