Introduction

Northeast Watercraft Reconstruction Specialists investigates and reconstructs pleasure craft, personal watercraft and "near coastal" commercial collisions and allisions. The NeWARS team has over fifty years of law enforcement, harbormaster experience and sea time.
Founder and lead investigator Robert J. Cronin is a USCG licensed Master with thirty-two years of full time law enforcement experience which included commanding a Marine Unit. Captain Cronin has investigated over 700 collisions of various types ranging from industrial vehicle fatalities to his specialty as a watercraft Reconstructionist. As a watercraft Investigator, Captain Cronin has provided testimony in MA, NH, NY, IL, TX and federal district court. Captain Cronin is also a watercraft accident reconstruction training instructor and teaches various topics at the regional Harbormaster training academy.

A: NO
Q: On how many occasions have you been retained as an expert?
A: Captain Robert Cronin has testified as an arresting officer on numerous cases ranging from minor civil infractions to armed assault. Included are motor vehicle homicide and serious personal injury cases in which I provided expert testimony. Captain Cronin has also provided testimony NH, NY, IL, TX and federal district court in various watercraft cases; both civil and criminal. Many other cases were settled prior to my testimony.

A: I have testified as an expert in various watercraft cases some of which were multiple fatalities. These range from high performance race boats to personal watercraft and commuter ferries. Many require interpreting the Navigation Rules or the examination of structures to determine causation.

A: NeWars services are billed at $150.00 per hour. Depositions are scheduled as an eight hour day and are billed accordingly.

A: NeWars bills $150.00 for trial. Trial days are scheduled as an eight hour day and are billed accordingly. (Expenses for deposition, trial, or scene visitation are on a case specific basis.)
