George C. Klein, Ph.D. is an expert on police apprehension of the mentally ill and mental health screening in jails and emergency rooms. He can also conduct research and do literature reviews.
Prof. Klein has a Ph.D. in Sociology and Criminal Justice. He has taught and conducted research for over 37 years. He has published numerous articles and is currently finishing a book on the mental health and criminal justice system in Illinois.
He has served for over 8 years as a part-time police officer. He is a trained hostage negotiator and was a consultant to a SWAT team. He is also a consultant to the Behavioral Science Unit at the FBI Academy.
Prof. Klein is a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines,Il.
