Dr Robert Maslansky is credentialed as a full member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine in addition to board certification and recertification in Internal Medicine. Graduate of Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City. On the faculty of NYU School of Medicine where he is a full Professor of Medicine (clinical). He holds an adjunct professorship at Rockefeller University. In addition, He is a senior consultant in the Division of Alcohol and Drug Addiction, NYU School of Medicine, Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine. He has written 30 scientific papers either as senior author or as collaborator. He has contributed two chapters to the text Clinical Addiction Psychiatry and Medicine, publication date Winter of 2010.He is a reviewer for two addiction journals.

He has spent his entire professional career in the alcohol and addiction field. He has testified in more 20 cases having to do broadly with the finding of an abusable substance in the blood or/and urine on the plaintiff's side, the prosecution's side, and the defense's side if justice is served by his testimony.

His special area of expertise is in the important juridical assessment of intoxication. Recently, he testified in a capital case challenging the validity of the Miranda reading because of the manifest opiate intoxication apparent on the video recording. The questioning resulted in a confession after 12 hours of hectoring by the police. The individual was not stripped searched. Each time he went to the men's room he snorted several bags of heroin.
