Dr. Wm. Wayne Hooper is a specialist in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. Currently board certified in pulmonary and internal medicine, he has been practicing medicine at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California since 1981. Former Chief of Medicine, Dr. Hooper has provided legal advice in approximately 300 cases providing medical legal opinions since 1983. His experience ranges from each of his specialty interests. From 1981 to 2005 his time was equally divided between the hospital and office. While in the hospital, half of that time was in the intensive care unit. As of 2005, he is no longer providing critical care medicine consultations in the hospital and has increased his office based practice time. As of 2005, he provides outpatient pulmonary medical consultations and works with his wife, Bonnie Hooper, ANP. He has staff privileges at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas but no longer attends patients in the hospital.
