Paul Herbert has nearly 30 years experience in the commercial motor vehicle industry. He started out as a dump truck, water truck and logging truck driver in 1976. He has hauled heavy equipment on lowboy trailers, wood chips in open-top "opossum belly" trailers, lumber, steel, pipe, and just about anything else you can haul on flatbed trailers, gasoline, diesel, lubricating oils, and milk in tank trailers, etc. He has also hauled dry freight in dry van trailers and ice cream and produce in refrigerated trailers. During his career, Paul has regularly operated forklifts in loading and unloading the trailers he was pulling. In addition to his truck driving experience, Paul worked in the areas of trucking laws and regulations enforcement and truck accident investigation as he worked for the Nevada Highway Patrol as a State Trooper assigned to Reno. Paul was employed by the California Trucking Association as their Assistant Director of Safety and Maintenance Activities and by a large California motor carrier, Kings County Truck Lines as their Director of Safety and Personnel. Since 1990 Paul has been consulting with many trucking companies as a safety and compliance consultant and has been training and evaluating truck, bus and forklift operators. Paul has been serving as a testifying expert in the fields of truck, bus and forklift operations regularly since 1990. He has testified in approximately 1,000 depositions and approximately 100 trials.
