Dr. Goehlert has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years. Active state medical licenses are Vermont, Florida and Maryland. He studied at McGill University, Montreal, Canada (B.Sc., M.Sc., 1978, 1982). McGill Medical School (M.D.,C.M. 1984). The Johns Hopkins, Bloomberg School of Public Health (M.P.H. 1989, Preventive Medicine, 1990) and Loyola College in Baltimore (M.B.A., 1992). He became Board Certified in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Quality Assurance and Utilization Review, Managed Care Medicine, and eligible in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. He has extensive “hands on” clinical and administrative experience in multiple primary care settings. His broad expertise is in ambulatory emergency and urgent care medicine for all age groups. He has particular interest and expertise in medico-legal managed care quality and utilization management issues.
Dr. Goehlert has a very diverse consulting and business background, being actively involved in many regional, national and international professional associations and societies. He was a national advisor for the College of Managed Care Medicine and on the editorial board of “Journal of Managed Care Medicine”. He is multilingual (German, French, Spanish) and has numerous computer and entrepreneurial business skills. He continues active clinical practice, administration and teaching. He is currently actively engaged in medical peer review activities both for medical legal and managed care entities as well as continuing medical and public education.
