45 years of working with electronics has provided Dr. Smith with a deep understanding of a wide array of electronic systems including radar and sonar surveillance systems, medical systems, and automotive systems. He conducts forensic and intellectual property investigations involving a wide variety of computer/electronic technologies including sensor based measurement and control systems, cell phone hearing loss, motorized wheelchair malfunctions, industrial machine control accidents and automobile cruise control malfunction.
Dr. Smith has worked on projects with Westinghouse Electric, Bell Telephone Laboratories, United Defense, L-3 Communications, Johns Hopkins University, Lockheed Martin, Alliant Techsystems, Northrup Grumman, BAE Systems, Energy Conversion Devices and Sparton Engineered Products. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He has a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering, has published in the professional literature, holds four patents and one patent pending.
