THOMAS D. SMITH, Ph.D., P.E. – Electronics
Dr. Smith has conducted and led research, analysis and design projects for industry leaders like Westinghouse Electric, Johns Hopkins University, Bell Telephone Laboratories, and United Defense.
Dr. Smith has analyzed major electronic systems in a wide variety of specialties, from the Aegis Shipboard Radar systems to sonar surveillance systems to automotive and medical systems. He has served as an expert witness in state and federal courts for intellectual property investigations. He has conducted forensic investigations in areas such as motorized wheelchair malfunctions, cell phone hearing loss, and automobile cruise control malfunction.
He has a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, holds four patents and is also published in his field.
