Mr. Stoneburner received his Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation/Vocational Evaluation from the University of Arizona and completed additional graduate work in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology at the University of Southern California. He has been a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor since 1979.
During the past 25 years, Mr. Stoneburner has been affiliated with graduate programs at California State University locations in Los Angeles and San Bernardino. He continues to serve as a graduate advisor board member and adjunct professor in the Rehabilitation Program/College of Education; job analysis, vocational assessment, counseling, and job placement theories and strategies.
For over 25 years Mr. Stoneburner has been practicing in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation in Southern California and, more specifically, in California’s Workers’ Compensation system. He has worked with and supervised the vocational rehabilitation plan development and job placement process of more than 20,000 individuals. He has developed Vocational Evaluation programs, trained staff and conducted vocational evaluations. He has been retained as an expert witness for Workers’ Compensation (both applicant and defense), Personal Injury, Family Law and the Social Security Administration, having testified in hundreds of court cases relating to vocational assessment, residual earning capacity and employability.
Mr. Stoneburner's professional expertise is based upon a specialized skill set from his academic and professional background in vocational evaluation. He is qualified to administer and interpret vocational tests, work samples and observations from situational assessment protocols to accurately measure functional abilities. He is able to combine empirical data and standardized assessment tools, resulting in accuracy in assessment of residual employability and earning capacity.
Among his other attributes, Mr. Stoneburner has presented to and trained plaintiff/applicant and defense attorneys (Worker's Compensation & Social Security Disability)in the effective use of vocational experts. As a Professor in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation, Mr. Stoneburner regularly presents to, trains and educates working Vocational Rehabilitation professionals and aspiring Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors in such subject matter as transferable skills analysis, job analysis, vocational testing.
