 Robb S. Rehberg, Ph.D., ATC, CSCS, NREMT

Robb S. Rehberg practices what he teaches. Dr. Rehberg was a member of the on-field medical staff at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He provided primary medical care to elite track and field athletes from 197 countries. He also supervised the athlete-mixed zone, the medical treatment room, and the field of play at Olympic Stadium. In preparation for the Olympics, he instructed physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists on emergency care procedures for head and neck injuries.

Currently Dr. Rehberg is an assistant professor in the College of Science and Health at William Paterson University and serves as Director of the Athletic Training Education Program. He also serves as the Chief of Emergency Services and Coordinator of the Office of Emergency Management at Montclair State University. Prior to his higher education experience, he was the Chief Athletic Trainer for the prestigious Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, as well as for the Westwood Regional School District where he oversaw athletic training and sports medicine needs of 39 interscholastic athletic teams for over 13 years.

Additional professional experience includes acting as a consultant for the National Safety Council and for McGraw-Hill and Jones & Bartlett Publishers. Dr. Rehberg is a board certified and is licensed athletic trainer in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and is also a certified and registered EMT in both states. He also holds certifications as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and as a Playground Safety Inspector. He holds professional affiliations with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Department of Homeland Security, the National Fire Academy and the New Jersey State Police. A frequent lecturer at national conferences, Dr. Rehberg has published extensively in the areas of Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, and Emergency Care, and is the author of a textbook entitled Sports Emergency Care.
