Richard N. Rice is an Architect and General Contractor, performing Consulting, Expert Witness, and Mediation Services for the Legal, Insurance, and Construction Industries as well as for an independent clientele.
Mr. Rice has been trained as a Commercial Mediator and Arbitrator, and as a Dispute Review Board Panelist.

Mr. Rice provides Forensic Architectural & Construction Technical Services with over 38 years of diverse experience. His areas of expertise include commercial and residential cases ($100,000 to $20,000,000) analysis of construction defects, water intrusion, building codes, contracts, coordination and scheduling of experts, bidding and quantification of repair costs, and repair solutions. His offered services include but are not limited to site inspections, detailed reports, allocation of responsibility and destructive testing as well as trial support.

Since 1974, Mr. Rice has provided litigation support for plaintiff and defendant. He has consulted in the adjustments of over 200 insurance claims involving earthquake damage to residential and commercial properties. Mr. Rice has also performed services as an Appraiser for Attorneys and their clients in over 30 cases involving insurance claims resulting from earthquake damage. He is presently a consultant for a major Insurance Company in the final settlement of its 1994 Northridge Earthquake insurance claims.

Richard N. Rice, A.I.A., Architect & Associates, Inc., formed in 1962, has received a number of awards for its work and has established a reputation for integrity, thoroughness and distinguished design. The firm has planned and designed a variety of projects, including Office, Commercial, Hospitality, Single & Multi-Family Residential, Banks, Savings and Loan Buildings, Medical, Surgical Out-Patient Centers and Parking Structures. Mr. Rice has been the Supervising Design Architect for over $1 billion of construction work. In addition, he has performed services on a consulting basis for a number of prominent architectural firms.

In 1973, Mr. Rice began structuring venture capital development projects to combine his related interests in Architecture, Construction and Real Estate Development. During the last three decades, Mr. Rice has functioned as Architect, Builder and Owner on a number of projects, acquiring extensive experience in all aspects of construction management. He has structured Real Estate offers, acquisitions and loans, working closely with Real Estate Agents and Escrow Companies. This experience includes intensive personal contact with financial institutions, construction trades, union business agents, City Planning and Zoning Departments, Building and Safety Departments, and Architectural Review Committees.

The firm offers a full range of Planning, Design, Construction and Development Services including Construction Management, site selection and evaluation, feasibility studies, architectural programming and design, and space-planning and tenant improvement design and construction.
