Michael J. Garibaldi is President and Chief Executive Officer of Israeloff, Trattner & Co., CPAs, PC, one of the region’s leading certified public accounting, financial, and management consulting firms, with offices in Garden City, Manhattan and Hauppauge, New York.
Michael Garibaldi is the officer-in-charge of Israeloff, Trattner’s Forensic Accounting, Business Valuation, Law Firm Services, and Litigation Support Groups. He has extensive expertise assisting attorneys and their clients with the financial aspects of a case throughout the litigation process, from contemplation of action through expert witness testimony. Mr. Garibaldi brings an in-depth understanding of the business and technical aspects of valuation, finance and accounting that is required in complex litigation and arbitration cases. His areas of expertise include the valuation of closely held businesses, professional practices, and professional licenses in the context of estate tax and estate planning, marital dissolution, shareholder or partner dissolution/oppression actions, bankruptcy, equitable distribution, structuring buy/sell agreements, personal injury, wrongful death or termination, business loss, breach of contract, acquisition, sale, embezzlement and fraud. In addition, he has also performed damage due diligence reviews for potential real estate acquisitions, as well as computations of enhanced earnings capacity. Mr. Garibaldi works closely with law firms, retail chains, and large multi-million dollar real estate groups where he is responsible for providing accounting, tax planning management consulting services, and financial reporting.
Michael J. Garibaldi qualifies as an expert in valuation matters in New York Supreme, Nassau Supreme, Suffolk Supreme and Westchester Supreme Courts, and has been called upon by the courts to serve as a nutral Expert. As an instructor of the AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement Program in Business Valuation, Mr. Garibaldi teaches his specialty to other professionals.
Michael Garibaldi s a Member of the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA), the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the ASA Long Island Chapter, the AICPA and the NYSSCPA, and a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He is the President and a member of the Board of Directors of the NYSSCPA Nassau Chapter, and has held a variety of positions on the Litigation Support Committee of the Nassau County and State Chapters of the NYSSCPA. Mr. Garibaldi has also held a number of positions on other committees and sub-committees within these organizations.
