Dr. Lurie's academic background has been primarily in the Harvard Medical School system, including a Harvard Medical Faculty position for over 20 years. His clinical experience began in surgery, continued in emergency medicine and has been finalized in psychiatry for the past 25 years. Clinical settings include inpatient and outpatient, both in private practice and hospital capacities, where he performed various types of psychotherapy and used psychopharmacology extensively. The psychiatric diagnoses he has treated include posttraumatic stress disorder, depressions, bipolar disorder, somatoform disorders, anxiety disorders, psychoses and alcohol/substance abuse. He has consulted to business, government, the insurance industry and the legal profession. His experience ranges from disability determinations, record reviews, IME's and case analyses to expert witness testimony. Cases have included personal injury, malpractice, disabillity/workers' compensation, competency, and family areas, including GAL and other witness rebuttals.
