Dr. Mark Levy, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association , is a graduate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry with Subspecialty in Forensic Psychiatry and a graduate of the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute. He also received Forensic Psychiatric Training from the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, Forensic Psychiatry Review Course, and the Osler Institute's Forensic Psychiatry Review Course.

For more than thirty years, Dr. Levy has been practicing clinical psychiatry and psychoanalysis fulltime in Mill Valley, California. In addition, during the past fifteen years he has devoted a substantial portion of his clinical practice to forensic psychiatry, providing independent medical evaluations (IME's) and expert forensic psychiatric opinion and consultation nationally for plaintiff and defense trial attorneys, major insurance carriers and the courts.

He has consulted in approximately 250 medical legal cases, testified in state and federal court on 24 occasions and has been deposed more than 100 times.

Dr. Levy's areas of expertise are civil matters in which emotional injury is claimed including but not limited to post traumatic stress disorder - witnessing or sustaining injury from disaster, violence, loss/bereavement, divorce, torture, terrorization...by parent or spouse; auto / aircraft / industrial accidents; severe pain; rape; Psychotic states; Molestation: Sexual Harassment; Drug / alcohol abuse; Job stress / violence / harassment; Psychotherapy / psychoanalysis; Psychiatric malpractice, Independent Medical Examinations (I.M.E.). In addition he consults on issues of testamentary capacity and undue influence, allegations of emotional injury arising in the work place and bereavement following loss.
