John spent 18 years as a lead engineer and project manager for a multi-state firm engaged in the design, inspection and evaluation of roadway, bridge and railroad projects for state, county, city and private clients. He's been involved in every aspect of these projects. He's designed both steel and prestressed concrete highway and railroad girder bridges; he designed the rehabilitation of a through truss major river bridge, as well as the rehabilitation of multi-span steel girder structures supporting an elevated commuter rail line; and he's designed an elevated steel structure for a rubber-tired urban transit system. He conducted inspections, performed structural analyses, and wrote reports for highway bridges in PA, WV, and NJ, and for railroad bridges located in eight states.
John’s additional structural experience includes designing and analyzing structural systems for buildings and retaining walls. He’s evaluated structures for failure due to vehicular impact, improper design, defective fabrication, settlement, insect infestation, excessive loading, fire damage, and improper surface and foundation drainage.
John is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Association for Bridge Construction and Design. He’s received Motor Vehicle Accident Reconstruction training as well as training from OSHA.
