John D. Darer is an experienced structured settlement broker, registered settlement planner, certified structured settlement consultant and licensed insurance agent who brings a wide range of practical hands-on case experience designing financial settlement solutions for injured parties, helping to negotiate settlement solutions and development of innovative technological applications and cost saving solutions for complex claims settlement scenarios in jurisdictions throughout the United States.

Mr. Darer also lends his expertise to select cases, involving structured settlements, or periodical payments, outside of the United States and, in the United Kingdom, is authorized and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Mr. Darer has over 26 years of practical experience in the financial services industry. He is a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Management with a degree in marketing. In addition to holding the FINRA Series 7, 63 and 66, he has earned the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter ("CLU") and Chartered Financial Consultant ("ChFC") from the American College, the designation of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant ("CSSC"), sponsored by the NSSTA, in conjunction with the executive program at the University of Notre Dame and the designation of Registered Settlement Planner ("RSP") program through Texas Tech and the Registry of Settlement Planners. His broad background, in structured settlements, litigation support, diversified financial services, planning and analysis, securities, combined with strong research skills along with significant practical hands-on case experience, brings a valuable asset to the table for his clients.

John Darer is a prolific writer with a direct "no nonsense" approach. His Structured Settlements 4Real blog aims to help consumers, attorneys, judges, and the media sort through the "clutter" they face in researching structured settlements and settlement planning issues on the Internet by providing timely and useful education, structured settlement information, settlement planning information, opinion and provocative watchdog commentary on litigation recovery management issues affecting parties in claims,lawsuits or disputes, and those with existing structured settlements. Fresh structured settlement information and content is added virtually every business day. As of July 2009, Mr. Darer has published over 1945 articles since the inception of the blog in November 2005. John Darer has also been profiled on the Legal Broadcast Network in video podcasts containing interviews of John by Scott Drake and attorney Jan Schlichtmann. His blog Divorce Settlement Ideas and Solutions provides a resource to parties in divorce and their legal representatives and discusses ways to secure alimony and child support payments. In the Structured Sales Authority blog he addresses issues about structured sales and topics related to the growing area of disposition of real estate or businesses through structured installment sales. He also publishes the Deferred Income Annuity Blog which discusses retirement issues and defined benefit annuity solutions.

John Darer is a regular contributor to settlement industry discussions on The Settlement Channel and Speaking of Settlements (affiliates of the Legal Broadcast Network) and has also been interviewed in several podcasts. Prior publications include the AIA Binder (01/00), "Structured Settlements: You Save, They Prosper" in International Risk Management magazine (2/95) and the Vermont Captive Chronicle (10/93). Mr. Darer has on numerous occasions addressed trade associations within the structured settlement industry, was a speaker on the subject of structured settlements at the annual meeting of the WV and VA Bar Associations in July 2003 and at the Aviation Section of the Tort Insurance and Trial Practice Section of the American Bar Association in November 2005. He has advised numerous claimants, attorneys, corporations, insurance companies, syndicates, and government entities on issues concerning structured settlements, economic damages and transfer of risk in the domestic, London, and French and South American insurance markets. Mr. Darer has served on the Branding, Technology, Education, Public Relations and Long Range Planning Committees of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association. In addition, he is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Stamford Chamber of Commerce, the Aviation Insurers Association, Association of Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU), Retirement Income Industry Association (RIIA) and a Charter Member of the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals ("NAMSAP").

Mr. Darer supports and promotes high standards of excellence, ethics and improved financial literacy by promoting education about structured settlements, the settlement planning process and litigation recovery management to parties in litigation, insurers, counsel, the judiciary, the creation and maintenance of an accredited professional standard designation for the settlement planning industry and the establishment.of professional fraternity of settlement professionals.
