Dr. James H. Deatherage, Ph.D., P.E.

Specializes in all areas of Constuction including structural engineering, highways, bridges, buildings, construction work zone accidents, construction safety (OSHA), scheduling, claims, productivity claims, temporary structures, forensic analysis, post blast failure analysis, and erosion and sediment controls. Dr. Deatherage has testified several times in areas involving Standard of Care of Engineers and Contractors. Over the last 20 years Dr. Deatherage has testified more than 300 times in local, state and federal courts. Dr. Deatherage is currently a Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at the University of Tennessee. In addition to his teaching duties Dr. Deatherage has acted as Associate Director for the Center for Transportation Research and Associate Director of the Construction Research and Policy Center. Prior to his acedemic experience Dr. Deatherage was President and Chief Operating Officer of both a regional general contracting firm and a design firm specializing in design build construction. He is currently a partner in Construction Engineering Consultants.
