My name is James G. Caya and I’m an M.D. physician specializing in the practice of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

As a Pathologist, I represent one of the few bonafide "generalists" in medicine by virtue of the fact that I serve as a professional resource to essentially all other medical specialists (that is, a “physician’s physician”). Thus, my medical knowledge and expertise extend well beyond the laboratory to encompass the breadth of medical practice. I have over 27 years experience in Pathology; hold American Board of Pathology certifications in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Hematopathology and Cytopathology; have published over 70 medical papers; given over 80 invited medical presentations; and served as a Professor of Pathology at three top American medical schools.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you about the availability of a program called the “Medical Liability Case Consultancy.”© This consultancy is available to both plaintiff and defense counsel as a subscription service or on an individual case basis. Key features of the program include evaluation and assessment of all types of medical liability cases involving all medical specialties (not just pathology):

- Medical liability cases are reviewed and evaluated from the perspective of medical merit, that is, “win-ability.” This is especially helpful to plaintiff counsel when attempting to decide whether to accept a contingency seeking medical liability case client.
- Provision of essentially STAT consultations to you and your staff regarding any medical issues about which you have questions such as medical terminology definitions, concepts, and other matters.
- Serving as an expert witness in selected cases involving issues related to Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
- Assistance in the recruitment of expert medical witnesses from medical specialties outside of Pathology. As you might surmise from the above mentioned brief review of my professional credentials, I have numerous contacts in the national medical community, both within and outside of Pathology.
- Assistance in strategic planning for depositions and trials, with emphasis on tactics involved in the questioning of the “opponent’s” medical experts.
- Full access to health care informational resources at the University of Wisconsin Medical School Health Sciences Library and the Internet.

If you are at all interested in the “Medical Liability Case Consultancy” © program, or if you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact me at: phone 608-798-1936; fax 608-798-5067; or E-mail JGCayaMAC@aol.com. I very much look forward to working with you to our mutual benefit.
