JRL Consulting, was formed by Jack Long, following a corporate early retirement and after over 35 years in various engineering, sales, and international positions. The majority of his career was focused on railway equipment, and casting technology. The final 20 years included assignments as Chief Engineer, and Senior VP International. As Chief Engineer he supervised a staff of over 40 professionals in design engineering, testing, field service engineering and drafting. During tenure as SVP International, responsibilities included sales and licensing of technology,intellectual property evaluation and interfacing with legal cousel on these and other engineering matters,and with depositions and trial testimony. In addition to several international papers and speaking engagements, he was granted eight US Patents. He holds a degree in Metallugical Engineering and served as an officer in the US Army, before beginning his career in industry.
