Dr. Mitchell was a career medical officer in the U.S. Public Health Service where he served in high level positions in agencies concerned with occupational medicine and environmental medicine. His primary interests are exposures or alleged exposures to chemical or physical hazards in occupational or environmental settings. He is on the faculties of several universities and has published extensively in this area. He has recently published a new book dealing with many occupational and environmental exposures which is entitled "Instant Guide to Medical Surveillance" (OEM Press, 2003).
Dr. Mitchell has served as a consultant and expert in many legal cases concerning occupational and environmental exposures.
