Douglas E. Williams, P.E., provides consulting services to engineering, construction and legal clients on topics related to heavy steel welding, fabrication, inspection, and quality control/quality assurance.
Doug's experience includes over 35 years of metalworking and industrial experience and over 25 years in the welding and fabrication of structural steel, pipelines and piping. He also has extensive experience in fit-for-purpose analyses, including failure analysis, and in training engineers and welding inspectors. Doug has authored and/or edited detailed technical specifications for many major structures, such as bridges and offshore platforms in addition to published papers and Ch. 6 "Test Methods for Evaluating Welded Joints" of the American Welding Society Welding Handbook, Vol. 1, 9th Ed., 2001.
