Introduction

Ceramic Tile and Stone Consultants (CTaSC) is a full-service company providing forensic investigations and remediation, expert witness, testing, reporting, installation specifications, quality control, training, market research and business planning.

A professional company of expert consultants, CTaSC is comprised of accomplished ceramic tile and stone installers, forensic architects, construction scientists, and other industry specialists. We perform inspections and investigations in the U.S., Canada and internationally.

We are forensic investigators and consultants for terrazzo, tile, stone and other flooring and wall surface materials. We are the leading experts in North America. We are experts at interior and exterior tile, stone, thin-brick, and terrazzo applications of all types, as well as carpet, LVT, Wood and other types of floor covering products. I am a tile and stone expert and I sit on all of the key industry standard committees for natural stone and other types of tiles.

CTaSC founder, Donato Pompo, has been a Ceramic Tile Consultant (CTC) since 1979 when he received certification from the Ceramic Tile Institute of America (CTIOA). He is recent past chairman of the CTIOA Technical Committee. Mr. Pompo serves on Tile Council of America's Handbook Committee (TCNA) and the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) standard committees that are responsible for updating and setting standards for the ceramic tile industry. He has been a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) since 1982, and is certified as a Construction Document Technologist (CDT) and a Council-Certified Microbial Remediator (CMR). He is a member of the Forensic Consultants Association and the Forensic Expert Witness Association. He is a Certified Tile Consultant (CTC), a Certified Tile Specialist (CTS), a Certified Stone Specialist (CSS), a Certified Construction Document Technologist (CDT), a Certified Microbial Remediator (CMR), and a NTCA Recognized Consultant. He has a biochemistry education with a MBA degree. He is the founder of the University of Ceramic Tile and Stone (www.UofCTS.org).

Mr. Pompo majored in biochemistry as an undergraduate, and he has an MBA. His formal education, combined with over 30 years of experience in the field of tile and stone, from installation to distribution to manufacturing, makes Mr. Pompo a very effective and knowledgeable Expert Witness.
