David Merrion is the retired Executive Vice President of Engineering for Detroit Diesel Corporation a DaimlerChrysler company and is an expert regarding internal combustion engines especially diesel engines. He has 50 years experience in the field and consults with several companies regarding diesel emissions and asbestos lawsuits. He has been an expert witness to several companies including General Motors, Freightliner, and DaimlerChrysler. He was the Compliance Auditor for a Consent Decree between Detroit Diesel and EPA, DOJ and CARB. He is on the Board of Directors of two companies involved diesel emissions. He holds a patent on a diesel/electric hybrid vehicle and was recently appointed by the National Academy of Science to the Committee on Review of the 21st Century Truck Partnership Program.
