Motor vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian accident reconstructions, occupant dynamics, seat belts, air bags, vehicle crashworthiness, product liability, human factors, collision causation, and bio-mechanics.
Mr. Gayner has over 20 years of accident reconstruction experience with approximately 1000 cases. He has testified more than 150 times as an expert witness throughout California and the United States. Mr. Gayner holds a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1988).
Mr. Gayner offers two options for retention as an expert:
* Traditional Method: Retention of Mr. Gayner by one party as an EXPERT CONSULTANT including EXPERT TESTIMONY if the case proceeds to depositions and trial. Including: case review & analysis, vehicle & scene inspections, photographic documentation, exhibit preparation, discovery assistance & review. Client is billed at hourly rates of $225/hour for case work and $325/hour for testimony.
* Alternative Dispute Resolution Method: Mr. Gayner is now also available as a NEUTRAL EXPERT to assist attorneys, mediators, and arbitrators in case resolution. Parties to the litigation share the cost for ONE independent NEUTRAL EXPERT technical evaluation. This innovative and cost-effective approach is advantageous for promoting early resolution of the reconstruction liability issues and is particularly useful when used in conjunction with other ADR proceedings. Billed either at an hourly rate of $225/hour or a single flat rate (determined in advance on a per case basis).
