Hundreds of hours of formal education and training in highway collision investigation, analysis and collision reconstruction, as well as thousands of hours of formal training & education in forensic photography, commercial photography and automotive mechanical technology and mechanical engineering technology has been dedicated to this specialized discipline. Mr. Pembleton has also conducted hundreds of hours of hands-on research and development of controlled testing in the specific areas of dynamic and static skid/friction and crash testing, as well as achieving continuing education and training in other associated disciplines. He has also provided expert testimony in various courts of law, and has provided sworn testimony at depositions and hearings in hundreds of cases throughout the United States and Central America.
Mr. Pembleton maintains his expertise in the areas of multidisciplinary highway collision reconstruction and automotive systems failure analysis. This expertise involves ground transportation collision causal factors investigations, contributory factors, vehicle safety standards compliance and performance, automotive technology and systems failure/performance analysis. He actively applies this extensive training and practical experience in collision dynamics, area of impact, vehicle pre-impact, impact and post-impact speed calculations, along with the correlation of the direction of principal force, emphasizing the relative movement and position of vehicle. Mr. Pembleton regularly conducts analyses to determine the change in velocity, occupant dynamics and positioning, as well as passive and active occupant restraint system usage/performance. Headlight and tail lamp examinations are also conducted to determine on/off illumination at impact, trace evidence collection referencing pedestrian and occupant contact points, and injury causation and indexing.
