Carl Spear, aviation consultant and expert witness, is a commercially rated helicopter and multi-engined fixed wing pilot with in excess of 4000 flying hours.
He currently flies police helicopters for the Sheriff's office as part of their Special Operations Aviation Unit, conducting on scene trauma flight operations as well as search and rescue missions. He is a qualified Helicopter Emergency Services (HEMS) pilot and Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Part 135 qualified.
He has extensive technical knowledge of aircraft systems and operations, both fixed wing and rotary and is experienced in flying high performance aircraft, formation flying and aerobatics.
As a consultant for GMR Experts, part of GMR Consulting, he provides consultancy services and expert reports particularly in complex high value aviation litigation and takes instructions from attorneys acting on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants.
