Captain Timmel sailed as a Merchant Marine Officer, is a Master Mariner and has been a Tampa Bay Harbor Pilot since 1987. Active in the maritime industry, he lead the development of GPS based pilot navigation systems and received the prestigious Propeller Club's "International Maritime Person of the Year Award'. He has served as an expert witness for over ten years in both plaintif and defense cases and is an acknowledged expert in shiphandling, boating & PWC accidents, navigation and piloting, Rules of the Road, marine operations, and seamanship. Able to explain complex maritime terms and processes in an easily understood manner, he is very credible and convincing in the stand. Captain Timmel is quite personable and makes a valuable addition to any legal team.
