Uhl specializes in safety & training issues related to off-highway vehicles (OHVs). He also trains instructors. Uhl is one of the few individuals in the U.S. who has been recognized as qualified to train world-class professional competitive riders who represent the U.S. in international competitions. As evidence of his credentials to testify regarding recreational trail safety, Uhl has been recognized as a competent trail designer. He has designed and constructed safe recreational trails and has supervised the construction of such trails. Uhl also trains world-class competitive riders because his personal international competition legacy was crowned by winning five gold medals for the U.S. He conducts "Train the Trainer Classes" for government and corporate agency personnel who train other employees to ride off-highway vehicles as part of their work assignment. This includes motorcycle dirt bikes, dual sport bikes, ATVs, Quads, snowmobiles, utility vehicles (UTVs/side-by-sides), bicycles, and some street bike issues. Uhl has also been asked by attorneys to evaluate the safety and maintenance of OHV equipment, recreational trails, tour operations, and recreational facilities.

A: Your law office will be charged.... This agreement begins with Mr. Uhl serving as a consultant or expert witness regarding a personal injury case. A $5,000 dollar non-refundable retainer related to the case will be mailed when the law firm / agency is ready to retain the services of Mr. Uhl and or his associates. (Note: only the first retainer is non-refundable.) Sending the retainer will verify that the firm / agency accepts the terms and conditions of this agreement. Note: if you choose to use one of Mr. Uhl’s associates, $2,000 dollars for each additional associate will be added to the amount of the retainer. (One associate adds $2,000 + $5,000 = $7,000 retainer.)

Regarding fees charged by FEA, LLC, the law firm / agency will be charged $2,500 per day per person (up to a 10-hour day per person) for on-site visits (trips outside of the FEA, LLC home base) plus expenses. Examples of on-site time include the time involved in reviewing the site of an accident, doing accident site investigation, or conducting other out-of-town research.

If Mr. Uhl or an associate is scheduled to perform work on the case at hand and that work is rescheduled or cancelled without at least eight days notice, a cancellation fee of $2,500.00 per person will be charged plus the cost of any related charges such as airline tickets, lodging and car rental fees not refunded. Examples include Mr. Uhl being scheduled to appear in court but a court date is suddenly rescheduled, the case settles "at the last minute" or a site visit or deposition is cancelled (after the law firm has requested that we hold specific dates on Mr. Uhl’s or an associate’s calendar and time has been set aside for the activity).

FEA, LLC will charge $250.00 per hour for legal work conducted by Mr. Uhl or one of his associates at the FEA, LLC home site, such as reviewing material sent to us by the law firm / agency or writing reports. If the intake interview with Mr. Uhl or an associate covers case content instead of focusing on their credentials, that time will become billable when you choose them as your expert witness / consultant.

The fee for depositions or a court appearance is $325 per hour. If the cost of a deposition isn’t paid by the opposing counsel within 30 days of the billing date, the law firm /agency
hiring Mr. Uhl or associates will pay the bill within 30 days from the date FEA, LLC notifies the firm / agency that a problem exists.

Payment for Mr. Uhl’s or the associate’s travel time, such as the time required to fly or drive to and from a court appearance, site visits, etc., is billed at a discounted rate. We charge $125 per hour. Associates fees are the same as Mr. Uhl’s.

Your firm will be billed when the amount due FEA, LLC exceeds the retainer received. (the last invoice will be applied against the retainer.) Payment for each bill is due within 15 days. Invoices are to be paid after services are rendered and FEA, LLC invoices the law firm. It is not permissible to wait to pay FEA, LLC until a case is won or settled. Delinquent payments are subject to a 10% per month compounded late charge. If unpaid amounts need to go out for collection all cost for collection will be applied to the unpaid invoice.
